Core WWC Services
Women's Wellness Centers are expected to be innovative and client-centered, offering services that address women's health needs from adolescence through the post-menopausal years. While variation in the package of services made available by each center is expected, the following are considered the core services of WWCs:
- Family planning and reproductive health programs
- Prenatal care, pregnancy, breastfeeding, and childbirth classes
- HIV/AIDS and STI prevention, detection, treatment, and management
- Cancer education and screening
- Mental health education, counseling, and support groups for depression, domestic violence, and rape
- Telephone hotlines for counseling and crisis intervention
- Substance abuse education, identification, and cessation
- Chronic disease education, screening and treatment
- Peri- and postmenopausal education and clinical interventions
- Healthy lifestyle education, nutrition and exercise counseling
- Adolescent health programs, sex education and peer support groups
- Community outreach
